WHAT IS A MANCHESTER ?
The Toy Manchester Terrier is an ideal apartment dog. His loyalty with to his family knows no bounds, he's very independent and aloof with people who are not part of this entourage. He will ''snob'' strangers. He is, however, very affectionate ...even demanding with his close family. He has the reputation of getting along well with children and does not seek quarrels with other dogs. On the other hand, being a Terrier, beware Mr. Moles and Mrs. Mouses! With cats, he will accept them if he has knowns them since childhood.
Being very intelligent, he likes to learn and is endowed with an exceptional memory. Once a command is understood, he remembers it for the rest of his life. Manchesters responds well to training and takes pride in his achievements. He is therefore a good candidate for obedience. WHen young he is very playful, and have great energy. Once mature, he is both knowledgeable and mor placid. Like all Terriers, he is a dog of great intensity, who gives of himself 100% in his relationships with his family. He is of a merry nature and shares his enjoyment of life.He loves accompanying his family in their activities. He is a fast mover and is equipped with exceptional reflexes. It has a territorial instinct and will protect what belongs to him and will warn of the presence of an intruder.
According to his admirers, the Manchester Terrier is brave as a lion and gentle as a lamb!
